Overview

Loadlight helps people manage shared todos and grocery lists. To make that work, we process account information, profile details, group membership, todo and grocery content, text you choose to send for optional AI processing, and notification tokens when nudges are enabled.

We do not sell your personal information, and Loadlight is not built around third-party ad tracking. We do not use your data for tracking across other apps or websites, and we do not allow our service providers to do so on our behalf.

Information We Collect

Account and profile information

When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address, user ID, display name, and profile settings. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth; we never see or store your password directly.

Group, todo, and grocery content

We store the groups you create or join, invite codes, group memberships, task titles, task notes, subtasks, assignees, due dates, categories, effort estimates, completion status, nudge status, and related timestamps.

For shared groceries, we store item names, quantities, units, aisle categories, assignments, checked status, who added or checked an item, and related timestamps. We also keep an item-name history for each group, including how often and how recently an item was added, so the app can suggest common groceries.

Voice and optional AI processing

If you use voice capture, your device may convert speech to text using platform speech-recognition services. Loadlight does not intentionally store the raw audio.

With your permission, Loadlight sends selected text through our Supabase Edge Functions to Anthropic so it can split voice transcripts into todos or subtasks, parse grocery dictation, and sort grocery items into aisles. Depending on the feature, the data sent can include a voice transcript, a parent todo title, grocery item names, today's date, your display name or account-name fallback, and relevant group members' display names. This context helps the service recognize assignments, dates, and items.

Before the first Anthropic transfer for an account on a device, Loadlight explains this sharing and asks you to continue or choose Not now. Manual entry and local grocery sorting remain available if you decline. You can turn Smart processing with Anthropic off later in Loadlight Settings; doing so stops future transfers but cannot recall processing that already finished. Anthropic processes the data on our behalf via its API and does not use API inputs to train its models under its API terms.

Notifications and device data

If you enable nudges, we collect an Expo push token, device platform, and update timestamps. To deliver a nudge, we send Expo the recipient's push token, the sender's display name, the todo title, and related todo, group, and user identifiers. Expo and the applicable platform push service deliver that content to the device. The sender name and todo title can appear in notification previews, including on a lock screen, depending on device settings.

We may also receive basic technical data such as logs, errors, IP address, browser or device type, and hosting diagnostics.

Product analytics

Product analytics are off unless you explicitly turn on Share usage analytics in Loadlight Settings. When enabled, we record named events through PostHog so we can measure activation and aggregate retention. These include sign-up or sign-in method; first-todo prompt views and a manual-or-voice choice; groups created or joined; todos created or completed; voice capture and parsed-todo counts; sharing-prompt views, acceptance, or dismissal; and completed invite shares. Events may include your Loadlight user ID, a group ID, a source or destination category, and numeric counts.

We do not send PostHog your email address, display name, group name, todo or note text, subtasks, grocery items, voice transcripts, invite codes, or invite links. We do not use analytics for advertising or cross-app tracking. You can turn analytics off in Settings at any time. This stops future capture from that device and discards pending events on it, but does not automatically erase events that PostHog already received. You can email us to request deletion of analytics linked to your Loadlight user ID.

Apple Reminders sync

If you enable Apple Reminders sync, Loadlight can write the todos assigned to you into a dedicated Loadlight list in Apple Reminders on your device so they are visible alongside your other reminders.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and secure your account.
• Sync todos, groceries, groups, and assignments across devices.
• Show real-time updates to members of the same group.
• Parse voice transcripts into editable task suggestions.
• Send nudges and in-app alerts.
• Measure aggregate retention and feature usage to improve the app.
• Provide support, troubleshoot bugs, and protect the service.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How Information Is Shared

Group content is shared with members of the group it belongs to. That means other group members may see your display name, tasks you create, tasks assigned to you, subtasks, notes, completion status, nudges, grocery items and assignments, checked activity, and related activity.

We also use service providers to run Loadlight, including Supabase for authentication, database, realtime sync, and serverless functions; Expo for push-notification delivery; Anthropic for AI task parsing; PostHog for the named product analytics events described above, linked to your Loadlight user ID to compute aggregate retention; Apple and Google platform services; and Vercel for this website. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

Some of our service providers, including Supabase, Anthropic, and PostHog, are based in the United States. By using Loadlight, you consent to your information being processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or Loadlight, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Your Choices

• You can edit your display name in app settings.
• You can disable push notifications or hide notification previews in your device settings.
• You can choose whether to use voice capture.
• You can review AI-generated todos before adding them.
• You can decline Anthropic processing when first asked or turn it off later in Loadlight Settings. Manual entry still works.
• Product analytics begin off. You can opt in or withdraw that choice in Loadlight Settings; the setting applies to that device.
• You can leave groups or delete your account in the app.

Account Deletion and Retention

You can delete your account from the Loadlight settings screen. Deleting your account removes your login, profile, memberships, and todos that you created or that were assigned to you. If you are the only member of a group, that group and its content are deleted. A shared group with other members remains, and another member can be promoted to owner so the group can continue.

Grocery items and item-name history in a remaining shared group may remain for its members, but grocery assignments and user references to the deleted account are cleared by the database. Account deletion also does not remove copies another member already exported or shared or data already processed by a service provider. Loadlight attempts to remove its synced Apple Reminders entries during account deletion, but copies may remain if device permission is unavailable or local cleanup cannot finish.

We and our service providers may retain limited records in backups or security and legal logs for as long as reasonably necessary for recovery, fraud prevention, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Contact us if you have a deletion question or cannot access the in-app deletion control.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authentication, database access rules, and provider security controls. No internet service is perfectly secure, so please avoid putting highly sensitive information into todos or voice transcripts.

Children and Family Use

Loadlight is a general-audience app that families may use together. It is not specifically directed to children under 13. Children and teens should use Loadlight with permission from a parent or guardian when required by local law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Loadlight without appropriate permission, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to review and delete it.

Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. You can make a request by emailing hello@loadlight.app.

California residents

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we hold, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@loadlight.app.

Changes

We may update this policy as Loadlight changes. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating this page, changing the date above, or notifying users in the app.
