Agreement
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Loadlight. By using the Loadlight app, website, or related services, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Loadlight.
Who Can Use Loadlight
Loadlight is designed as a general-audience app for shared tasks, families, roommates, trips, and teams. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use Loadlight with permission from a parent or guardian when required by local law.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens through your account.
The Service
Loadlight provides shared todo tools for groups, including task capture, assignments, due dates, subtasks, nudges, realtime updates, calendar views, and workload-balancing suggestions. We may add, remove, or change features over time.
Your Content and Groups
You keep ownership of task content, notes, subtasks, group names, and other content you add to Loadlight. You give Loadlight a limited license to host, process, display, sync, and transmit that content as needed to operate the service.
This license terminates when you delete your content, except as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, or maintain backups for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy.
Content added to a group can be visible to other members of that group. Only invite people you trust, and do not add private information that group members should not see.
Voice and AI Features
Loadlight may use speech recognition and AI services to turn transcripts into suggested todos or subtasks. These features can be helpful, but they may misunderstand names, dates, assignments, effort, categories, or intent. Review suggestions before adding them to a group.
Do not use Loadlight's AI output as legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. You are responsible for decisions you make based on tasks, suggestions, or nudges.
Nudges and Notifications
Nudges are meant to be lightweight reminders. Do not use nudges to harass, spam, threaten, or pressure other people. Users can manage push-notification permissions in their device settings.
Paid Features
Loadlight may offer paid subscriptions or other paid features. If you purchase through Apple, Google, or another app-store provider, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by that provider under its terms. Prices and billing periods will be shown before purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Play Console settings. Refunds for partial billing periods are not generally offered, subject to the platform's refund policies.
If a free trial is offered, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Loadlight for illegal, harmful, deceptive, or abusive activity.
- Upload content that violates another person's rights.
- Try to access another account or group without permission.
- Interfere with, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service.
- Use Loadlight to send spam or unwanted reminders.
Account Deletion and Suspension
You can delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for other users, or used the service in a way that could harm Loadlight.
Third-Party Services
Loadlight depends on third-party services such as Supabase, Expo, Anthropic, Apple, Google, and Vercel. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, or terms, but we choose providers that help us operate the app securely and reliably.
App Store Acknowledgments
If you use Loadlight on Apple's App Store, you acknowledge:
- These terms are between you and Loadlight, not Apple. Loadlight, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- Loadlight, not Apple, is responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed.
- Loadlight is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal requirements, and consumer-protection claims.
- If a third party claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, Loadlight, not Apple, is responsible for handling the claim.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them as they apply to your use of the app.
Similar acknowledgments apply to Google Play and any other distribution channels through which you obtained Loadlight.
Copyright Claims
If you believe content in Loadlight infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@loadlight.app with enough detail to identify the work, the location of the alleged infringement, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized and that the information in your notice is accurate.
Disclaimers
Loadlight is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, or available on every device.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Loadlight will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or service interruption arising from your use of Loadlight.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Loadlight from any claim, loss, or damage (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
Force Majeure
Loadlight is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages, natural disasters, network failures, supplier failures, or denial-of-service attacks.

You may not use Loadlight in violation of United States export laws and regulations, or in jurisdictions subject to comprehensive US embargoes, which currently include Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
Availability and Local Laws
Loadlight is intended to be available wherever we make it available through the App Store, website, or other supported channels. Your local consumer-protection, privacy, and app-store rights may apply and are not limited by these terms.
Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Loadlight will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washoe County, Nevada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Severability, Waiver, and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Loadlight's failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Loadlight regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements or communications.
Changes
We may update these terms as Loadlight changes. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of Loadlight after changes means you accept the updated terms.
